Pen and Brush Gala 2024: The Now: Fever Dreams
The Situation
For the reception of the exhibition The Now: Fever Dreams at Pen and Brush gallery, the challenge was to create an installation that would transport visitors from reality into a dreamlike realm. Less Than 3 Studio was invited to design an entryway that would embody the exhibition’s ethereal theme while making a bold, immersive statement.
The Creative Concept
The team crafted an entry portal made entirely of recycled materials, featuring over 3,000 handmade flowers and leaves. The installation began on the outside of the gallery with lush green and silver elements, symbolizing the transition from a grounded, natural environment into a more surreal, oneiric vision. The progression of colors and textures guided visitors deeper into the fever dream, culminating in a pure white space that represented an abstract, dreamlike state.
The Result
The installation was a show-stopping centerpiece, enhancing the overall experience of the Fever Dreams exhibition. It successfully captured the surreal essence of the artwork on display and drew praise for its innovative use of materials and the delicate craftsmanship involved. The portal remained a visual and symbolic highlight throughout the exhibition's run, drawing visitors into a mesmerizing world beyond the everyday.
